Hello! You’ve landed on ryantravelin, the blog for Ryan Creative Co, and you’ve opened the door to my life. I’m happy you can join me.
I’m based in beautiful Da Nang, a coastal city in Central Vietnam that is probably the best place to live in the country. I just moved here in late March so, sure, recency bias and confirmation bias, and all those things. I know. But you can’t deny the great qualities this place has.

That’s enough for me. Hence it is from here, this blog, that I will share my thoughts on travel and living overseas. (And I will have a lot to say about other topics as well, partly because I follow the world news so closely. After all, I’m a former journalist.)
The short story: I am a digital marketer who specializes in writing and editing, and I have been to 33 countries on six continents. I have even made a home in 3 of them — Asia, North America and South America. A couple of big reasons I chose to live in Vietnam is because I’ve always been fascinated with its history and I’ve loved Vietnamese food for a long time.
The long story will unfold here.
There will be conflict and resolution, struggles and successes, and overall a captivating experience, at least for me.
The most exciting part? I have no idea where this adventure will take me. Maybe I’ll live in Europe someday, or back in the states maybe, maybe somewhere I have not even thought about yet. That’s the great part about being so mobile. The options are almost limitless.
